Solar-Powered Success: D A Cant Breaks Ground Ahead of Development Project
D A Cant saved £4,857 in fuel costs by choosing Advanté’s Oasis Ec...
As part of a major Defence infrastructure upgrade, our EcoMax Solar welfare units supported North and Aspire Defence in delivering sustainable, low-carbon site facilities across four MOD locations — saving around 70 tonnes of CO₂ and averaging 97% renewable electrical energy use.
Advanté is proud to support sustainable and forward-thinking infrastructure upgrades across the Defence sector. As part of a major infrastructure programme delivered by North for Aspire Defence, our Oasis EcoMax Solar welfare units were selected to provide innovative, low-carbon welfare facilities for onsite teams.
North was contracted by Aspire Defence on behalf of the Defence Infrastructure Organisation to upgrade and install new Defence Business Infrastructure (DBI) Wi-Fi at select Army Garrisons. This involved upgrading the network infrastructure and structured cabling and enhancing Wi-Fi capabilities to help increase operational efficiencies, heighten security and improve the wellbeing of on-site personnel.
Our innovative and sustainable EcoMax Solar welfare and office units provided instant office and meeting areas, dining, drying room and WC facilities, all while generating clean, renewable electrical power from solar panels. Powered by hybrid technology, the units helped to significantly reduce carbon emissions and improve air quality – key priorities for the Defence sector. Furthermore, the generation of renewable energy not only reduced emissions but also delivered notable operational cost savings.
Implementing our solar-powered Oasis welfare units into the contract design and installation delivered significant achievements:
Lower Carbon Footprint: With approximately 70 tonnes of emissions saved, contributing to cleaner air and reduced environmental and social impact.
Cost Savings: Around £40k in operational cost savings through reduced fuel consumption.
Energy Efficiency: Averaging 97% renewable energy usage, with generator dependency at just 3%.
Reduced Noise Pollution: Thanks to the use of renewable energy and a smart telemetry system, which helps lower noise levels overnight.
Our EcoMax Solar welfare units achieved the following consistent results across four key installations:
Bulford Barracks: 97.59% renewable energy usage
Warminster: 96.15% renewable energy usage
Larkhill: 98.59% renewable energy usage
Swinton Barracks: 96.66% renewable energy usage
The Defence sector demands the utmost reliability and security in critical systems. This successful project demonstrates how environmental responsibility and operational performance can go hand in hand. We’re proud that our EcoMax Solar welfare units contributed to delivering benefits for the MOD, on-site teams, local communities, and the environment.
