We’ve been shortlisted for two Construction News Specialist Awards!

We are very excited to be shortlisted in two categories of the CN Specialist Awards for Equipment Specialist of the Year and Technology Innovation of the Year!

The CN Specialist Awards are run by the leading construction magazine Construction News and they celebrate and showcase the very best in the industry.  Its categories recognise technical innovation, successful projects and forward-thinking companies in the sector.  The entries are judged by an independent panel of experts from across the construction industry.

Our award entry for Equipment Specialist of the Year category gave judges an insight into the types of welfare units we offer as part of the Oasis range, which last year celebrated its 25^th anniversary.  In our entry we outlined how we had pioneered the design of our flagship Oasis ‘instant start’ self-contained welfare unit 25 years ago. These units were launched after health and safety requirements, introduced in 1998, meant that all construction sites had to provide hot and cold running water before work could start. Our Oasis welfare units provide a complete off-grid solution before services are installed on site and the name has become synonymous with welfare units ever since.

Within the entry, judges were able to see how we not only design and manufacture our own units but also manage their hire, servicing and transportation, ensuring we are a single point of contact for our customers. Being a finalist in the Equipment Specialist of the Year category demonstrates our commitment to delivering the highest quality instant start welfare units and exceptional customer service for all.

We also showed how product innovation is central to our ethos. Highlights included introducing our EcoLogic hybrid welfare units to the fleet in 2010 , the launch of our PowerStation unit in 2019 and the introduction of our EcoLogic Solar welfare units in 2021. The latest units introduced in 2023 were the Vision Solar toilet blocks, featuring the Vision Solar Access – a first in class, bringing accessible self-contained toilet facilities to site.

For the technology and innovation award shortlisting, we were recognised for our groundbreaking Vision Solar toilet block, as part of our commitment to helping sites to achieve net zero.

Oasis Vision Solar was launched in May 2023, the first completely self-contained toilet block to be powered by Oasis Solar technology. This was a natural milestone for our business in terms of further decarbonising the Oasis Welfare range and increasing availability of instant-start toilet units, for our clients.

In addition, we designed our new toilet block to promote workforce diversity and wellbeing on site, offering fully accessible instant-start toilet facilities for disabled people, as part of the Oasis Vision Solar range.

In addition, Vision Solar is powered by Oasis Solar Hybrid Technology, which is delivering 96%* renewable energy to power all electrical loads in the unit, including lighting, hot water, and hand dryers.

The next stage in the Construction News Specialists Awards process is for our team to prepare for the presentation to the judging panel, which takes place on two separate dates in July in London.  For each award, we have 10 minutes to present our entry followed by 15 minutes Q&A with the judges.

Once this process is completed, the final event, when awards will be presented, takes place in September in London.
